Description
Bring a piece of natural history into your space with this floating butterfly specimen. Carefully preserved and mounted by hand, each butterfly is displayed between clear panels that create a modern, weightless presentation.
The Old World Swallowtail is instantly recognizable for its bright yellow wings traced with deep black markings. Small blue accents and warm red eyespots along the hindwings add unexpected color, while its elongated tails complete the iconic swallowtail silhouette.
Its strong contrast and traditional butterfly shape make it an especially approachable specimen for both established collectors and anyone beginning a natural-history collection.
The compact 5x5 frame keeps the presentation clean and modern while allowing the intricate wing markings to remain the focus.
No two are exactly alike. Variations in markings, coloration, wing shape, and texture are part of what make each specimen distinctive.

Specimen
Old World Swallowtail
(Papilio machaon)
The Old World Swallowtail is a widespread swallowtail species found across much of Europe and Asia, with populations also occurring in parts of North America.
Its yellow wings are patterned with strong black veining and borders, while blue markings and small red eyespots decorate the hindwings. Long tails extending from the lower wings give the butterfly its classic swallowtail appearance.
Elegant, recognizable, and beautifully patterned, Papilio machaon is a timeless addition to a preserved butterfly collection.
