Description
Bring a piece of natural history into your space with this floating butterfly specimen. Carefully preserved and mounted by hand, each butterfly is displayed between clear panels that create a modern, weightless presentation.
The Green-Banded Swallowtail is immediately recognizable for the vivid band of blue-green color that sweeps across its dark wings. The contrast is dramatic, with the colored markings taking on an almost metallic quality when viewed from different angles.
Its clean pattern and intense coloration make it a particularly striking specimen without feeling overly ornate.
The compact 5x5 frame keeps the presentation simple and modern while allowing the butterfly's distinctive color to remain the focus.
No two are exactly alike. Variations in markings, coloration, wing shape, and texture are part of what make each specimen distinctive.

Specimen
Green-Banded Swallowtail
(Papilio nireus)
The Green-Banded Swallowtail is an African swallowtail butterfly found throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa. Its predominantly black wings are crossed by vivid blue-green bands and spots, creating the dramatic contrast for which the species is known.
The coloration can appear greener or more blue depending on the specimen and lighting, giving the wings a subtle shifting quality.
Its bold pattern, rich coloration, and classic swallowtail form make Papilio nireus a striking addition to any preserved butterfly collection.
